Meet Maddison Ackiss

What is your role at Avison Young?

Marketing Coordinator: I generate customized client-specific packages, conduct extensive marketing research, and specialize in social media management. Some of my responsibilities include the development and production of proposals, marketing products and other deliverables including custom and standard flyers, graphics, and presentations.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I was lucky enough to find Avison Young shortly after I graduated college. From the first interview, I knew this would be the right fit for me.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

The biggest influence in my life has been my mom, Colleen. My mom is the most tenacious woman you will ever meet - she is incredibly intelligent, strong, and generous. She has always encouraged me to show off my creativity and to be the best person that I can possibly be.

What is the best advice you've ever received?

"Character is how you treat those that can do nothing for you."

How has Avison Young supported you as a woman in business?

Avison Young has supported me by giving me the resources and freedom to find my fit in the AY culture. Over the past two years, I have not only grown as a professional, but I have gained so much confidence in myself as an individual.
