What is your role at Avison Young?

Director of Property Management. I oversee four property managers and three building engineers while managing a portfolio of properties myself.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I began working for a real estate syndication company part time when I was in college. That led to a job working for a real estate developer. We began managing the properties we developed after they were sold and soon the business grew to managing properties for other clients.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

In my professional life, the biggest influence was my first boss, Nancy. She truly mentored me for over 15+ years and is the reason I am the kind of manager I am today. She was extremely good at written and verbal communications and many of the communication strategies I use today, I learned from her.
