Join us to hear from Joanne Roney CBE, 6 months into post as Managing Director of Birmingham City Council, a role that has seen her return to her native Birmingham after seven years as Chief Executive in Manchester.
Despite the well-publicised financial challenges of the Council, Joanne has inherited the leadership of a City in the midst of a development boom: the largest Built-to-Rent hub outside London with c.18,000 residential units in the pipeline, and with a new 45-minute train connection to London driving a £10bn boom to the economy and a 66% increase in planning applications. In delivering its hugely ambitious Future City Plan, Birmingham is a JV partner is some of the largest and best connected development schemes in Europe.
