David Jones
Principal and Managing Director, Business Rates | London
David has been an exception leader of the UK's Business Rates team since 2020. He navigated the hurdles of COVID plus key fee earning leavers and produced a profit of £2.5m whilst maintaining budgeted FSR of 2.20. In 2021 the team generated £12.8m with an EBITDA of £5.1m, exceeding budget by £1.2m. In 2022, despite the UK economic climate, his team delivered a stellar performance of £15.8m exceeding budget by £2.3m, 15% ahead of budget. His leadership style is inclusive and fair; always fixated on driving EBITDA and exceeding client expectations. His team is engaged and innovative, continually seeking solutions to and pre-empting the challenges their clients face. In the market he is recognised as the leading sector specialist in the UK real estate market. His leadership is an inspiration to all – embracing change with a positivity and energy.

Jake Pygall
Associate Director, Industrial & Distribution | Leeds
Jake has been a significant contributor to the Emerging Talent programme over the past two years and was the Emerging Leaders Ambassador for Leeds in 2022. During his time with AY, Jake has gained the experience, market knowledge, and confidence to move from servicing referred and smaller scale work, to a greater proportion of self-generated and larger scale work to help AY grow the Leeds industrial business. Jake has a strong pipeline representing revenue of c. £450k over the next 12 – 24 months, with the majority of that being self-generated income. He’s an important member of not only the Leeds Industrial team, but also the wider Leeds office. His energy and commitment to maintaining a strong regional culture and business development sets him apart. Jake is fundamental to how AY is shaping our regional Industrial offering going forward in terms of maximising potential, structuring the team, and implementing succession planning.

Laura Jenkinson

Laura is an outstanding and tireless ambassador for our London business, continually connecting clients with colleagues, seeking out opportunities, and collaborating to bring innovative and commercially-focused solutions to clients both existing and new. She is a creative problem solver and actively seeks new ways to meet the challenges faced by our clients. Her ability to tease out a business opportunity and to add value and help grow the business is exceptional. Laura’s focus on bringing new revenue and clients into the wider business rather than simply her team is recognised across the London office. Ross Sayers at Landsec sums Laura up perfectly with, "Laura has been great over the 10 years I have been working with her on The Monument Building & 21 Moorfield in the City, the new home of Deutsche Bank. She has so much energy, drive, and passion. She sets clear direction for the whole design team so there is no ambiguity as to what is required. She also has strong relationships through the city, from officer level through to politicians and has never been afraid to argue our case at every level to get the right answer. This nomination relates to the Cheltenham Golden Valley project: 112 acres of land in Cheltenham next to GCHQ. Gordin has worked closely on this mixed use development intending to deliver c.1,000 residential units and 1m sq ft of cyber-related employment space.

Greg Francis

In Greg's Director interview in 2022 he was challenged to see how he could maximise the potential of his obvious technical expertise in other sectors and markets. Greg took the initiative to look at how Rights of Light modelling worked in North America and approached Scott Pickles in Canada to look to establish a service line opportunity as it was identified the skills are transferable and there could be an opportunity to augment advisory and development services with Greg's innovative approach to Rights of Light. Greg has gone on to produce and develop marketing collateral and currently engages with Scott and Sheila to agree route to market strategy.

Tom has been at AY for just over a year, but has already made extensive contacts around the business both in the UK and overseas. Tom's collaboration and enthusiasm for creating business opportunities has already resulted in significant wins. He is also developing a pipeline of substantial future opportunities in London for multiple service lines, by utilising the skills and experience that exist in the wider business.

Methodical, structured, and good technical knowledge in his area of expertise, Gary has a collaborative approach and empowers his leadership team and also works with the wider REMS business to problem solve and increase service delivery from the accounts team.

Charlotte Powell
Soft Services Manager, Workplace Arts and Culture | London
Charlotte is the assistant building manager at Heron Tower in Central London. Charlotte stepped up from front of house duties when the Building Manager left and has held the position of Assistant Manager for many months while the new Building Manager was recruited. Charlotte has stepped up to the task of managing a 400,000sqft tower admirably, dealing with the wider staff at the building, a large number of high profile occupiers, liaising with suppliers and local stakeholders such as the emergency services.
