Meet Samantha Saunders

What is your role at Avison Young?

I am one of the Affinity Group Coordinators, based out of the Atlanta office, providing administrative support to all of Avison Young's Affinity Groups.

How did you get into commercial real estate?

I started my career out of college as a retail manger working at different retail brands. After some time, I decided I wanted to try something new. My dad, who had been in the commercial real estate industry a very long time, really inspired me to look into what job opportunities were out there and put me in touch with someone at Avison Young. Even though I didn't have any experience in commercial real estate, they gave me a chance to be a part of their amazing team.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

My mom and dad. I would not be where I am today without them. They have taught me to always work hard, believe in myself, never give up, and have supported me every step of the way.

How has Avison Young supported you as a woman in business?

Avison Young has supported me as woman in business by believing in me and giving me a chance. I didn't have any commercial real estate experience when I came to apply for a marketing position, but AY saw something in me, and I will forever be grateful to them for the opportunities that I have been given.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?

I am a huge major league soccer fan. My favorite team is Atlanta United!
